Statistics

As All My Friends spends its 15th week on #40Friday, Jacob's total weeks on the chart hits 20.

The Weeknd debuts with I Feel it Coming. It is his lowest debut. It is The Weeknd's 3rd song to appear and Daft Punk's 2nd.

Water Under the Bridge and Blow Your Mind (Mwah) have not hit the top 20 yet but have spent 10 weeks on the chart. Two other songs have done this in the past. They were Kent Jones - Don't Mind and Frenship/Emily Warren - Capsize, achieving this on August 12 and December 16, 2016, respectively. Both left a week after doing this.

Make Me (Cry) is both Noah Cyrus and Labrinth's first on #40Friday.

There are three songs in a row that are from European artists. You can find these from #21-#19. Little Mix and Ed Sheeran are from the U.K., while Breakbot is French.

Since this chart has only been around for less than a year, Shape of You is Ed Sheeran's first here.

Most songs from the #12-#19 range are getting new peaks. These songs are kind of like a bubbling under for the top 10.

Chase You Down has been hitting lots of new peaks lately. I like this song a lot, but I doubt it will get higher than #7. This will probably spend about a half a year on the chart in total.

Into the Fire really isn't supposed to be this high. I'm trying not to get this any higher but it's just so catchy.

Half of the top 10 includes songs that have been on the chart for at least 10 weeks. HandClap has even been on #40Friday for 20 weeks. But if I was making charts back when I first heard that song, it would be on here for 25 weeks. Which is also why I'm saying that it technically doesn't have a new peak. And 25 weeks is almost the record for most weeks on this chart. The record goes to Lukas Graham - Mama Said, which was on here for 27 weeks, which actually would have been 28 since I skipped over one chart.

You may have noticed that the biggest jumps and drops have been getting smaller, and there is a reason for that. The rules for the chart have been changing, so huge drops or jumps are really unnecessary for this chart. This rule also means that debuts can't always be so high. Ed Sheeran got lucky though, as his #20 debut is considered quite good.

Now for our last statistic, the top 3 entirely holds for the third week in a row. This also means that we have a #1 with at least 4 weeks, which just happens to be Guys My Age. I definitely can see this setting the record for most weeks at #1 soon. That record is 6 weeks, held by Symon - Say, which technically should have spent 9 weeks at #1 but I did not create charts back then.
